Most of us are busy, and preparing meals is time consuming. It’s always nice when a good cookbook comes out with shortcut recipes that can be made easily in one short period of time without lots of pans to wash. Dinner in One Take: Weeknight-Friendly Meals That are Big on Flavor, Not Time, by online cooking personality Bo Corley.
This excellent cookbook includes dishes that most of us really want to cook, like ribs, burgers, grilled and smoked chicken, etc. Most of the dishes require minimum prep and minimum cooking time. The recipes are presented in the traditional manner with the ingredients listed first, followed by step-by-step instructions that are easy to follow. Corley has included notes at the beginning of each recipe with tips and information to make the dishes successful. The beginning chapter also cover things like preparation helps, ingredients, equipment, etc.

One of the best aspects of this cookbook is that there are beautiful, professional photographs of many of the dishes that will make your mouth water. These recipes are for real food – nothing frou-frou or difficult. There are some that are fancy enough for company, and many that are unique so to avoid same-old, same-old.

All told, this is a nice cookbook that will make a good addition to any cookbook collection. It is well written and easy to use.
